I’m ready for another great week in reading class!
Monthly Reading Reflection
We will be going to the library this week, so please remind your child to return their books on Tuesday. The January Reading Reflection is also due this Tuesday.
Arizona Coyote Reading Program
January Coyote minutes are due this Wednesday. Please make sure the minutes have been totaled and that you have signed for the month.
Just a reminder that students should be reading at least 20 minutes every day and recording those minutes in their Coyote log.
Word Masters Challenge
This past week’s analogy was: current : previous :: this year : to last year. Each Monday students are given a new analogy to solve in their Google Classroom. I randomly choose one student on Friday who answered the analogy correctly to receive a “Spot On.” Last week’s winner was Chase!
Comprehension: Reviewing Differences Between Drawing Conclusions and Inferencing
The setting of our story, In the Year of the Boar and Jackie Robinson, begins during the Chinese New Year. Last week students learned more about the Chinese New Year by completing a interactive Nearpod assignment. This week students will be finishing reading chapter 2 and working on the vocabulary for the next few chapters. In addition, they will be reviewing inferences and drawing conclusions by looking at examples from chapter 1.
